Our client suffered a hip fracture as a result of being struck by motor vehicle in a cross-walk. Unfortunately, three weeks later, he passed away from cardiac dysrhythmia. The insurance company initially denied that our client’s death had anything to do with the motor vehicle accident. We were ultimately able to convince them that there was a likely casual link between the initial orthopedic injury and secondary cardiac event, resulting in a negotiated settlement without the need for trial.
